Just as with a real baby, a sling is a must for carrying around your doll.
I had to (really, I just had to!) make James the sling after we went to the library and he wanted to take his doll, but all he had for carrying was the Moses basket bed. So he lugged that thing around with his doll and two blankets draping out of it.
I have to say, either way, there are few things more satisfying in life than watching your child play with a (and love) toy you made them. So sweet.

Light parade!
OK- sorry these are so dark, but we forgot our camera. I may be able to lighten them tomorrow. Anyhow, we all braved the elements and met my brother and his two kids at the Christmas Light Parade tonight. Scott was awesome, wearing BOTH his kids- baby on front, toddler on back! Our two were totally bundled into the stroller. But for next year we scoped out the ultimate car parking spot, and we have big plans for bringing down the bus and hanging out all cozy in there.

Office moving day
See how Leland's surrounded by objects in transition? Michael's moving his office into the back of our house, and today's the big move. James was pretty confused about how the office would fit through the door; it made more sense to him once I explained that actually we wouldn't be moving the building itself, just the things inside. This should be an interesting transition no?

Could it Be?
This could mean that the highchair would GO AWAY! Yay! The highchair is always in the way and Mr. Leland is quite precarious in it since he slips out of the ties and tries to crawl onto the tray. Yesterday he, for the first time, ate lunch sitting next to his brother on one of the regular stools. James was the concerned big brother telling him over and over not to fall and to sit and be careful. So far it seems like he'll do just that, so maybe we can stick the high chair in the attic.

Lovin' on That New Baby
The three big kids kissed SJ until he'd had enough last night and had to be snuggled with Mama.
Leland especially was smitten and had to keep coming back for kisses, even after Scott was loaded into his car seat.
Even at two weeks he's trying to charm Oma.

Halloween 2008
We had a good Halloween- the city had a huge celebration at the park and downtown.
Here are the guys- Michael holding the Bee, James in his train shirt. He once again went as "a Boy". I made him ladybug wings, but at the last minute he didn't want to wear them.
We met Scott & Joan and kids at the park.
I made Nomi's costume too. You can see Michael trying to convince James to put on his wings, but he'd have none of it- knows his own mind, that kid!
Baby goblin Scotty
Leland being surprisingly nonplussed by his very odd looking uncle- he did stare at him good and hard though.
You can sort of see how they decorated the play structures, but this doesn't convey the Vast amount of people swarming everywhere.
We spent most of our time on the littler and less crazy play structure. Usually they don't think this one is so cool, but costumes change everything.
On the way out Leland was obsessed with this guy. He totally ditched us to go over to the bear!

My crown says, "It's good to bee Queen" :)
At our house with friends after the park.
