Our New Site Address!

Due to too many problems with making the comments feature work here on Blogger, we're moving this blog over to wordpress. You can see all the old posts, updates and new posts, and say hello over there!

Here's the new address:

Sick Days

The boys actually have been well, but Michael and I have been sick the past week. I was hit really hard with this cold and could barely get out of bed! One night Michael had a meeting and it was near bedtime for the boys so I just said they could come fall asleep with me. I woke up a couple hours later and when I felt for Leland next to me...nothing...then, hmm feet? I turned on the light to find them sleeping this way with Leland on Jamies back! This is about as cuddly as they get together, but it's only when both are ALSEEP.

The Heartbeat

We had our first official midwife appointment yesterday. Sierra does house calls; old fashioned service. Her son, Joey, also joins her on the rounds and plays with the boys during her visit. This model of care also allows us to not have to go into the doctor for labwork. Of course, some of the midwifery work required helpers; as pictured below. James was running the doppler as we heard the new baby's heartbeat for the first time. James and Joey also helped get Alissa's blood pressure. I escorted the helpers to the bedroom during the blood draws. It's something about sharp pokey things...

Snow! Snow! And more snow!

The shoveled drive.

Our street, better than most as we are an emergency route.

Queen of the Snow Mountain.

Snow.

The path between the snow berms.

Looking out of our entry.

There was a wee bit o' snow this week and more to come today and tonight. There is enough snow that James, Alissa, and I were able to jump off of the roof! Thank you to Kirk for helping with the end of the drive with the magical snowblower! Alissa and I are tired and sore from the continual shoveling project. Well, it is probably time to take the advice of the radio announcer this morning and "...build a fire, watch a movie, and have a 'beverage' today."
