Silly silly Leland, everytime he gets his hand on a piece of cloth he try to put it on his head. It seems to happen most frequently with Jamie's underpant and shorts!

Just when poor Moo was getting used to James' attention, just when she thought she might actually LIKE kids who pet her, well, now she's got Leland to contend with. And Leland has some kitty scratches on his arm- though it barely stopped him, petting the kitty is just THAT exciting.

Home Again, Home Again

We weren't ready for vacation to end, but sure enough it did. Of course it IS kind of nice to be home too- the cats and the chickens missed us. Well, the cats did, and the chickens missed getting grasshoppers caught and brought to them.

Colorado was wonderful. We stayed in my parents yurt and fell asleep to the sound of the river each night. The boys played and played- hiking, climbing and rock throwing each day. Michael and I got some much needed down time and are (sort of) ready to jump back in to the rush of life.

Being an how James is an Arizona child umbrellas are... pretty novel. He's loving Monsoons this year and wants to get the umbrella out at the slightest hint of rain. Notice I say the umbrella- singular. Yeah, we had two, but the only umrellas we own are ones that have come free (with luggage I think...?) and are fairly cheap. The other one bit the dust. This one does alright for keeping rain off of one small boy. I'd do terribly living somewhere like Seattle. Rain makes me feel like I have to stay inside and not do anything, except maybe bake.

Tomorrow morning we're heading out for a weeks vacation in Colorado.
